Summary The article presents a fast numerical algorithm for calculating the response of a halfspace under any surface loads. Under
certain conditions there exists an analytical solution to the problem in the Fourier domain. To get the desired response,
a numerical inverse Fourier transform of this analytic solution has to be made. By using a wavelet decomposition, the proposed
algorithm can reduce the calculation time significantly, thus allowing the computation of complex problems. As an example,
the response of the beam-halfspace coupled system under moving load is presented.

In the present survey, the influence of electric fields on the structure and rheological properties of disperse systems as well as the effect of deformations on their electrical characteristics are discussed. The properties of these systems are considered in terms of the dielectric permittivity and electrification potential. The considerable thickness of the double electric layer around the disperse phase particles, which is characteristic of disperse systems with nonpolar hydrocarbon dispersion media, provides the possibility for strong electric fields to produce an electric nonuniformity on the surface of the disperse phase particles. The formation of hydrate layers on the particles creates the possibility of polarization of the disperse phase. In plastic disperse systems such as greases, a strong orientation effect is observed, which contributes to the creation of frozen flow patterns when the flow is suddenly stopped. The survey is concluded with a consideration of the process of formation of chain structures in the direction of the lines of force of the electric field whose orientation is normal to the direction of flow, which can lead to complete stoppage of the flow. 相似文献

Theoretical study of double-layered porous Rayleigh-step bearings with second-order fluid as lubricant is presented. An approximate method for the solutions of the governing fluid film equations for a porous region is proposed. The expressions for the pressure distribution, load capacity and frictional coefficient are obtained in compact form. Calculations of the dimensionless load capacity, frictional force and frictional coefficients are presented for specific values of the material parameters. It is found that the double porous layer yields an increase in the load capacity and ensures decrease in frictional force at the porous lining as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings. The maximum dimensionless load-carrying capacity is found to occur at a slightly larger step ratio as compared with the conventional porous Rayleigh-step bearings. 相似文献

Thermohaline convection occurs in hypersaline geothermal systems due to thermal and salinity effects on liquid density. Because of its importance in oceanography, thermohaline convection in viscous liquids has received more attention than thermohaline convection in porous media. The fingered and layered convection patterns observed in viscous liquid thermohaline convection have been hypothesized to occur also in porous media. However, the extension of convective dynamics from viscous liquid systems to porous media systems is complicated by the presence of the solid matrix in porous media. The solid grains cause thermal retardation, hydrodynamic dispersion, and permeability effects. We present simulations of thermohaline convection in model systems based on the Salton Sea Geothermal System, California, that serve to point out the general dynamics of porous media thermohaline convection in the diffusive regime, and the effects of porosity and permeability, in particular. We use the TOUGH2 simulator with residual formulation and fully coupled solution technique for solving the strongly coupled equations governing thermohaline convection in porous media. We incorporate a model for brine density that takes into account the effects of NaCl and CaCl2. Simulations show that in forced convection, the increased pore velocity and thermal retardation in low-porosity regions enhances brine transport relative to heat transport. In thermohaline convection, the heat and brine transport are strongly coupled and enhanced transport of brine over heat cannot occur because buoyancy caused by heat and brine together drive the flow. Random permeability heterogeneity has a limited effect if the scale of flow is much larger than the scale of permeability heterogeneity. For the system studied here, layered thermohaline convection persists for more than one million years for a variety of initial conditions. Our simulations suggest that layered thermohaline convection is possible in hypersaline geothermal systems provided the vertical permeability is smaller than the horizontal permeability, as is likely in sedimentary basins such as the Salton Trough. Layered thermohaline convection can explain many of the observations made at the Salton Sea Geothermal System over the years. 相似文献

In the paper anomalous diffusion appearing in a porous medium composed of two porous components of considerably different diffusion characteristics is examined. The differences in diffusivities are supposed to result either from two medium types being present or from variations in pore size (double porosity media). The long-tail effect is predicted using the homogenization approach based on the application of multiple scale asymptotic developments. It is shown that, if the ratio of effective diffusion coefficients of two porous media is of the order of magnitude smaller or equal O(
2), where is a homogenization parameter, then the macroscopic behaviour of the composite may be affected by the presence of tail-effect. The results of the theoretical analysis were applied to a problem of diffusion in a bilaminate composite. 在传统试井模型的非线性偏微分方程中根据弱可压缩流体的假设,忽略了二次梯度项,对于低渗透油藏这种方法是有疑问的.低渗透问题一个显著的特点就是流体的流动边界随着时间不断向外扩展.为了更好地研究双重介质低渗透油藏中流体的流动问题,考虑了二次梯度项及活动边界的影响,同时考虑了低渗透油藏的非达西渗流特征,建立了双重介质低渗透油藏流动模型.采用Douglas-Jones预估-校正差分方法获得了无限大地层定产量生产时模型的数值解,分别讨论了不同参数变化时压力的变化规律及活动边界随时间的传播规律,还分析了考虑和忽略二次梯度项影响时模型数值解之间的差异随时间的变化规律,做出了典型压力曲线图版,这些结果可用于实际试井分析. 相似文献

This paper establishes a piezoelectric constitutive computational approach based on generalized eigenvalue and multivariable
finite element solutions with potential applications to accurate and effective analysis of layered piezoelectric microstructures
of arbitrary geometries and different anisotropic materials, to ease the limitation of current computer capacity in analyzing
large-scale high-frequency disturbed surface acoustic waves (DSAW) by mounted electrodes in piezoelectric devices such as
microchip SAW resonators. A new incompatible generalized hybrid/mixed element GQM5 is also proposed for improving predictions
of the piezoelectric surface mount thermal stresses that are shear-dominated. The (generalized) plane strain constitutive
model is numerically verified for piezoelectric finite element computation. With the help of computational piezoelectricity
(electro-mechanics) for general layered structures with metal electrodes and anisotropic piezoelectric substrates, some new
interesting, reliable and fundamental constitutive finite element results are obtained for high-frequency piezoelectric and
mechanical SAW propagations and can be used for further applications. The ST-cut FEA results agree quite well with available
exact and lab solutions for free surface case.
